As the Head of People, you will be part of a dynamic and quickly growing team in the middle of an ever changing industry. To be successful in this role you will be open-minded, creative and resourceful and have a keen interest in the IoT and software industry. You will conceptualize, plan and execute new HR activities to grow and nurture our team and you come up with creative ideas to keep our employees engaged, motivated and positive, even under WFH COVID-19 circumstances. You will spearhead new employer branding initiatives and create compelling content.

Responsibilities

  • Talent acquisition: you find the best talent in a highly competitive market, you fill our vacancies in an efficient way and you organize and manage the whole recruiting process. You understand our job requirements, reach out to the right profiles, coordinate the interviews, etc. in short, you optimize the hiring processes and own the new employee orientation process.
  • Onboarding: you make this a fluent and well structured process with new hires feeling welcome
  • Talent nurturing: you formalize and coordinate the performance appraisal system, you streamline compensation and benefits and enhance overall employee satisfaction
  • You define employer value proposition and initiate career development, critical to future success and develop next generation leaders
  • HR policies: you develop and formalize HR policies as our team grows
  • HR events: you will set-up, coordinate and participate in recruiting events, whether virtual, physical or hybrid
  • Employee branding and external communications
  • You will report directly to Waylay’s CEO and work together with our office manager

Skills & Experience

  • At least 5 years of hands-on HR experience, ideally in a scaling software or high-tech company, we want you to hit the ground running
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive outlook and a proactive, go-getter attitude
  • Strong writing skills, as part of employer branding, you also will help evangelize Waylay’s role in automation industries and how it can impact people and the future of employment
  • Social connector, in the center of our community, you know everyone and everyone knows you
  • Experience in international, cross-cultural dynamic growth environments
  • Solid understanding of Belgian labor legislation and employment regulations
  • Stress resistant & agile with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent project manager and able to work and connect with all stakeholders
  • Highly organized and with the ability to independently take on multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a clear sense of priorities and targets
