Job description

To ensure the uptime of mission-critical business processes of our customers on our platform, we are looking for a hands-on Service Reliability Engineer to join our team. Backed by a strong R&D team and product organization, the Site Reliability Engineer will help build, run and scale the Waylay platform.

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the Waylay Platform reliability which is spread over multiple regions across the world
  • Helping Waylay to build, run, and scale the Waylay platform.
  • Shape our Site Reliability Engineering team, bringing your drive, experience and knowledge
  • Enhance and extend the observability and automation of our platform together with the Platform Engineering team.
  • Work with and maintain cloud native technologies part of the Waylay Architecture (Kubernetes, Terraform, Loki, Openfaas, Gloo (Envoy), Kafka, …)
  • Work within a global team that provides 24x7 support and delivers the service.
  • Work with others to guarantee the success and scale of Waylay, using your engineering and people skills
  • Report to the Services Team Lead

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical experience, building and operating infrastructure at scale
  • Hands-on experience with Docker
  • Hands-on experience using an infrastructure as a service provider such as Google
  • Hands-on experience of networking principles such as routing, load-balancing, TCP/IP stack
  • Hands-on experience with operating a container orchestration system such as Kubernetes
