Waylay is actively searching for a full-time Technical Sales Engineer in the US to join our team who will help build the Waylay software product offerings and expand our customer base in the US and Canada. This is a remote, full-time position. The hired candidate must be based in the Midwest or on the East Coast.

Position Overview

Waylay is seeking an experienced high-tech enterprise software pre-sales engineer who can support the sales of Waylay’s software products to mid- to large-sized enterprise accounts with a connected asset strategy. Target markets where Waylay has existing references include discrete manufacturer OEMs, oil and gas, energy, utilities, automotive, telecommunications, and additional verticals.

You will be part of a dynamic and fast-growing team in the middle of an ever-changing industry. Every day brings new challenges, so you will need to be a team player at heart. This role will suit an individual who is highly technical by nature, not shy of new initiatives and the hands-on work that comes with the territory with an eye for detail and is a self-starter.

The hired candidate will be responsible for developing and nurturing a pipeline of target customers in the USA and Canada. Based on the hired candidate’s exceptional technical architect level capabilities, he/she will naturally understand the customers’ strategic vision on connected assets and predictive and preventive service assurance and be able to articulate and demonstrate with precision the role Waylay can play to realize this vision.

The hired candidate must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and have great organizational skills to ensure goals and deadlines are met.

  • Work with the sales teams to identify and qualify new sales opportunities.
  • Deliver technical and business value presentations, demonstrations, and proposals to existing and potential customers.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to customers throughout the sales cycle, including where necessary after sales support on occasion.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to ensure that proposed solutions align with product roadmaps
  • Lead the technical business development of the Waylay products to new and existing enterprise accounts in the US and Canada.
  • Operate as a true partner with all customers to understand their business needs and objectives most importantly validating the customers’ technical needs against the Waylay software product capabilities.
  • Manage customer expectations, gain their trust and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to help the company achieve its sales targets and expand the company’s customer base rapidly in general.

  • Bachelor or Master degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration or related field of study.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in building and maintaining relationships with customers in field operations environments, ideally in at least two industries is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to understand complex technical problems and design effective solutions.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow, Salesforce Service Cloud, IBM Maximo, IFS, etc.is preferred, but not required.
  • Highly organized and with the ability to independently take on multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a clear sense of priorities and targets; ability to meet projected goals and established deadlines.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and analytical skills and IT fluency with a keen interest in technology.
  • Flexible time wise and remain in regular contact with the head of office; ability to flourish in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and remain proactive.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
