What we value as a company

Transparency

We work in an open space, both literally and figuratively, knowledge is shared, initiative is encouraged, options are debated, decisions are public.

Ownership

We’re independent, we’re opinionated and we own up to our stuff; there's no hiding behind three layers of management.

Togetherness

We support each other and win together; we give credit to individuals and take credit as a team.

Curiosity

We have a genuine interest in learning; poking and probing and finding stuff out is what we’re made of.

Our Engineering Culture

We are tool builders at heart and our platform is built by developers for developers. Building high-quality software is part of our DNA and that's what we always strive for.

We have daily standups, weekly demos and constantly discuss software architecture and review pull requests. We also developed a strong devops culture and encourage everyone to pull their weight when it comes to deploying the code they write.

Our City

Ghent is Belgium's startup capital and a fabulous, growing university-city in the Dutch-speaking region of Flanders.
The Ghent startup scene is supported by the high-tech research and incubation center iMec in whose accelerator Waylay also started its journey in 2014. Ghent is home to popular open source software Drupal, Belgium's first unicorn (TeleAtlas, a creator of digital maps acquired by TomTom) and many more successful software companies.
