Waylay, the leading automation and integration platform for the Internet of Things, is proud to be one of the key partners of The City of Ghent Mobility Center in their development of the Traffic Management as a Service (TMaaS) project, an innovative smart city concept that has now received European funding from the EU initiative Urban Innovative Actions.

Thanks to the European Commission’s financial support, amounting to a total of 4.3 million euros, the City of Ghent will be able to develop its concept together with Waylay and other key partners such as: UGent, KULeuven, navigation company Tom Tom, Be-Mobile and more.

The main idea of the project is the development of a fully digital traffic centre created specifically for small and medium cities, that aggregates information from existing digital data sources and automates across all sources to provide an integrated real-time view of city traffic together with personalized alerts and notifications for both traffic control center staff as well as citizens.

TMaaS will be built on the Waylay platform and leverages its powerful integration and automation capabilities.
